MeCam has announced its upcoming release of its high-definition wearable camera, the MeCam HD. Weighing 2.5 ounces and measuring only four square inches, MeCam HD shoots in full 1080p HD through its high-grade glass lens. The user can view what is recorded in real-time by connecting the device through Wi-Fi to any smartphone or tablet.
Its three-axis internal gyroscope provides image stabilization for when the user is moving. MeCam HD easily accommodates video recording for social media platforms, with video tools that will take 15 seconds of video for Instagram, as well as one that takes a five-second video for Vine. Currently accepting pre-launch backing orders through crowdfunding platform Dragon Innovation, the MeCam HD can be purchased with "early bird" pricing at $170.
