Nokia phablet with 20MP PureView camera out in UK, Australia soon
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has landed in Australia, following its launch in the United States and other countries. Not to be outdone, the six-inch phablet with a 1080p display will also be heading to the United Kingdom for launch on December 6th, with both carriers and third-party retailers said to be stocking the device.
My Nokia Blog advises that the Lumia 1520 is listed in the Harvey Norman catalog for AUS$894 ($818) with an AUS$20 ($18) voucher to purchase apps. Other sources state that there is stock of the device in various stores, though Nokia's Australian arm has yet to officially announce the device's availability in the region.
In the United Kingdom however, Pocket-Lint was told by Nokia that the smartphone will go on sale in the country from the 6th of December, with O2, Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and Micro-P said to stock it from launch. Current pre-launch pricing puts it at around £47 ($76) per month with no upfront charge on a two-year commitment, or down to £38 ($61) per month on a two-year contract with an initial £80 ($129) fee.
The Lumia 1520 has a 20-megapixel PureView camera on the back, with a quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM driving the device. Storage starts at 32GB and can be expanded by microSD, connectivity over Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, and LTE is also available, and it is supplied with a 3,400mAh battery.
