China Mobile 4G network compatible with iPhone 5c, 5s
The Chinese state media outlet, Xinhua News Agency is claiming that Apple's new iPhone releases, the iPhone 5c and 5s, will see release on the country's largest mobile operator, China Mobile, on December 18. The report dovetails with previous claims of the release being on that date.
The report stated that "Apple, Inc is also set to introduce iPhones supporting the 4G network in China, industry insiders said. The US giant and China Mobile are in negotiations over the 4G iPhone and they will launch it officially on December 18."
Should the reports be correct, Apple will have access to 750 million subscribers in the country before the end of the quarter. The iPhone 5c and 5s will run on the carrier's new TD-LTE network, bypassing incompatibilities that Apple and China Mobile faced with the existing 3G TD-SCDMA network.
