Moto X sees big price cut for holiday season
Motorola is offering a steep discount on its Moto X flagship smartphone on Monday. The manufacturer announced a $150 discount on the device last week that will go into effect on Cyber Monday, the day many online retailers give discounts on purchases. The phone will be available starting at $350 with the discount.
Motorola's discount will apply not only to the standard Moto X devices, but also to units made to order through the company's Moto Maker customization site. The $350 price tag will net a customer an unlocked model of the phone.
The Moto X features a 4.7-inch display with 1280x720 resolution. Inside, the device has a 10-megapixel camera. It also features a number of hands-free operational abilities, including the ability to wake the device from sleep by saying "Okay, Google Now."
The Moto X has seen a significant marketing push from Google, which hopes to turn Motorola into a bigger force in the Android environment. Reportedly, Motorola sold just over 500,000 units of the flagship device in the third quarter of this year.
