Discounted iTunes codes wipe out PayPal gifts launch supplies
PayPal has launched an online gift store, with Apple as its only launch partner, in preparation for holiday season shopping. The PayPal Digital Gifts store, coming a week after the service provided support for prepaid credit cards, will allow existing PayPal users in the United States to buy gifts and gift cards to provide to other people.
Currently, the store offers just four gift cards for iTunes, in $15, $25, $50, and $100 denominations. The PayPal Forward blog advises that all a user has to do is to select a gift, enter in their PayPal credentials, and then to select to either redeem it for themselves or to gift it to someone else. The company told The Next Web that, though its retailer choice is currently limited to just Apple, it "will be adding more very soon," and will be listing deals and offers from other merchants periodically.
Despite only launching today, the store has already run out of $15 and $25 iTunes codes. This is likely due to its current promotion of 20-percent off a $25 gift code. It is probable that PayPal will replenish stocks of sold-out items later today.
