Large AIO desktop can be used as large portable tablet with 2.5-hour battery
Acer has updated its Aspire range of devices with an all-in-one system, instead of another notebook. The Aspire Z3-600 differs from other releases in the range by being a desktop-based system with a 21.5-inch Full HD display, one which sits on a floating hinge that allows it to be propped up for normal use laid down flat and used as an oversized tablet.

Inside is an Intel Pentium processor with 4GB of RAM and 750GB of storage, according to CNET. Sound is piped through Harman Kardon speakers, while the HDMI port allows it to be used as an alternate display. Despite being effectively a very large Windows 8 tablet that's meant to be kept stationary, it is supplied with a battery claimed to last just 2.5 hours, which allows it to be used away from a desk for a short period of time.
Acer will be shipping the Aspire Z3-600 to customers in the United States in late December for $780.
