RealPlayer, Vevo, Red Bull.TV, more now Chromecast compatible
Google's Chromecast streaming dongle now has compatibility with 10 new apps, greatly expanding the range of compatible content for the diminutive TV attachment. Google's Chrome Blog made the announcement on Tuesday, revealing that Chromecast was compatible with Vevo, Red Bull.TV, and a number of other services. Along with an expected Android app-mirroring feature, the new announcement demonstrates the increasing attention Google is giving to its small streaming device.
Beside Vevo and Red Bull.TV, Chromecast is now compatible with Songza, PostTV, Viki, Revision 3, and BeyondPod. Users can also now stream their media straight to a television using Plex, Avia, and RealPlayer Cloud.
Along with the new apps, Chromecast is compatible with Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu Plus, Pandora, YouTube, and Google Play TV, Movies, and Music.
