Read-out PIN can unlock Moto X, Droid Ultra, Mini, Maxx
Motorola has updated its Touchless Control app with more voice commands, amid other changes. The app, available as an update through Google Play for compatible Motorola devices running Android KitKat, introduces the potentially-insecure option of verbally providing your security PIN to the smartphone in order to unlock it.
More Google Now commands can be used without unlocking or waking the device beforehand, according to the update spotted by Android Central. Items that use personal information, such as e-mails, messages, or contacts, still require the phone to be unlocked beforehand. The update also adds a new listening tone for when !OK Google Now! is said, and a number of bug fixes.
The updated Touchless Control app is available only to owners of the Moto X, as well as the Droid Ultra, Mini, and Maxx, also Motorola-made devices.
