Leak adds fuel to rumored launch of HTC One follow-up
More details for HTC's potential new flagship have surfaced, in the form of a Wi-Fi certification listing believed to be for the HTC M8. The leak on the Wi-Fi Alliance's website, now removed from view, gives little in the way of clues for the device outside of what is already rumored, but does strongly suggest that the follow-up to the HTC One is getting closer to a potential launch.
The details picked up by Android SPIN before being taken down shows that two different versions of the same product went through the testing, most likely single and dual-SIM models. They are both able to connect on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, and also include support for Miracast.
The HTC M8, or whatever the official name for the device will be, is thought to ship in the first quarter of 2014 and potentially as early as February, according to a judge ruling on a case between HTC and Nokia. It is thought to have a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, run on Android KitKat, and could retain the Ultrapixel camera technology.
