Samsung television has similar specifications to LG version

Samsung has revealed it will be showing off its own 105-inch curved Ultra HD television at CES in January, on the same day as rival LG announced its own similar screen. The widescreen television, also called the "world's first" by the company, appears to share a considerable number of specifications with its competitor's version, and is said to build upon the curved UHD TV that it debuted earlier this year.

Just like the LG version, Samsung's display boasts a 21:9 aspect ratio, and is able to display an 11-megapixel image, thanks to its 5,120x2,160 resolution. It also uses a "new proprietary picture quality algorithm" for optimizing the color of the on-screen image, while its Quadmatic Picture Engine will upscale all content to "UHD-level picture quality," regardless of the source.

As with LG, Samsung did not disclose the pricing nor expected shipping date for the display, but considering the earlier 85-inch S9 Ultra HD TV currently sells for $40,000 through Samsung itself, a larger, curved version could end up being in a similar price range.
