Verizon upgrades Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini to Android KitKat

Verizon is rolling out Android KitKat to its current range of Droid smartphones. Owners of the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini will receive the update from today onwards, with version 4.4 of the operating system bringing a full-screen mode, camera improvements, an updated Droid Zap app, an update for Motorola Assist, and support for the Fitbit, among other items.

AT&T rolls out Lumia Black update for Lumia 1020, firmware for Lumia 1520

Owners of the Nokia Lumia 1020 on AT&T will start to receive the Lumia Black update from today. The update introduces a new version of Nokia Glance Screen, the updated Nokia Camera, Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, enhancements to the battery and stability, and a collection of changes dubbed "Daily Delighters," such as easier closing of apps in the app switcher and custom ringtones for messaging and mail, reports WPCentral. A firmware update with performance improvements has also been released for the Lumia 1520 on AT&T.
