Iconia W4 ships with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013

Acer has allegedly started shipping its Iconia W4 tablet in the United States, months after its initial expected shipping time in October last year. Though the computer producer states the eight-inch Windows 8.1 tablet will be available later this month in both the US and Europe, it has apparently been listed by a number of online retailers as available to purchase.

The Iconia W4 runs a full version of Windows 8.1 on its 1280x800-resolution display, powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor with 2GB of RAM and options for 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage. Measuring 10.75mm (0.42 inches) thick and weighing 415g (14.6oz), the Iconia W4 has a rear 5-megapixel camera with autofocus with a front-facing 2-megapixel version, a Micro HDMI output and micro USB connection,Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and comes supplied with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013.

Acer claims that the Iconia W4 will ship at the end of January from $330, though Phone Arena notes that Amazon lists it as able to be received within days of ordering, suggesting it as being available now. Acer also touts a number of accessories for the tablet, including foldable covers with keyboards and the Acer Power Bank, which adds up to 4 hours to the existing 10-hour battery life of the tablet.
