Ultra HD TVs, sound bars, zipper-style headphones on show at CES
Display manufacturer Sceptre has revealed its 2014 line of televisions and other devices at CES. Though light on details, the company advises that the typical range of HDTVs is accompanied by a group of Ultra HD displays, sound bars, speakers, headphones, and a number of what Sceptre calls a "Mobile Internet Display" but sounds like a collection of tablets.
In terms of HDTVs, The R Series will be made up of 19-inch to 50-inch sets with a "brush pattern design," with a Color Series said to offer similar devices but in an array of colors, and the SR Series of 32-inch to 50-inch devices will have a "super slim bezel." The simply-named 4K Series will consist of televisions between 39 inches to 58 inches in size. Another KR Display series will apparently be made up of 32-inch to 50-inch "Roku Ready" displays with MHL, though this refers more to the Roku Streaming Stick than Roku's smart TV efforts.
This year's range of Sound Bars will offer Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in subwoofer, while the SoundPal Color Series will be a portable version with Bluetooth, NFC, a Micro SD card slot, and a noise-canceling microphone, as well as a range of color options. The SoundEP Series is a range of earphones that embeds its cables into a zip, allowing the wearer to store them with less tangles, which can also be used to place calls on a smartphone using its built-in microphone. The Mobile Internet Displays are said to run on Android, and range in size between 4.3 inches and 11.6 inches, though specifications remain unknown.
