Haswell processor, twin GPUs employed in Aorus X7

Gigabyte has launched a new gaming notebook that employs two GPUs instead of one. The Aorus X7, sporting a 17.3-inch 1080p display inside a 0.9-inch thick, 6.4-pound case, uses a pair of Nvidia Geforce GTX 765M GPUs in SLI to provide graphical power in games, along with a quad-core Haswell Intel Core i7-4700HQ clocked at 2.4GHz.

Running on a choice of Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 operating systems, the Aorus X7 has either 4GB or 8GB of RAM with space for 32GB, and storage options potentially allowing for a pair of 256GB mSATA SSDs and a 1TB 2.5-inch hard drive. Three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0, HDMI, mini-DisplayPort, Killer Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and an SD card reader are included, along with a pair of 2-Watt speakers. The backlit keyboard is said to have anti-ghosting technology to avoid key conflicts, a macro key column to the side has its own macro recording software pre-installed, with the notebook also including three customizable fan controls and a lockable Windows key to avoid returning to the desktop mid-game.

Expecting to ship in March, the Aorus X7 will cost between $2,100 and $2,800, depending on the configuration.
