Steadicam Smoothee now available for iPhone 5s, Drift Ghost and GoPro HERO3
Digital imaging accessories manufacturer Tiffen announced today that Steadicam Smoothee is now available for iPhone 5s, GoPro HERO3/3+ and Drift Ghost action cameras. The Smoothee eliminates shakes associated with handheld video recording, letting users create footage with control and ease. Demonstrated at CES 2014, the Steadicam Smoothee is lightweight, and highlights its design -- which is built around a durable mono-frame metal structure. Users can attach the camera mount to their smartphone and use it to capture desired footage.
The handheld stabilizing solution ships with an easy-to-use interchangeable mount for expanded camera capture options, and can also be used with an iPhone 3Gs, 4 and 4s, the iPod touch, and GoPro HERO 2, 3 and 3+. Priced at $150, the Steadicam Smoothee can be purchased from a variety of retailers.
Wahoo Fitness debuts Tickr, Tickr Run and Tickr X heart monitors at CES 2014
Wahoo Fitness has announced the upcoming release of its newest line of heart monitors, the Tickr, Tickr Run and Tickr X. Wahoo's motion-based algorithms measure an athlete's movement to record the motion of a workout -- from repetitions to acceleration to running mechanics -- and provide feedback on improving form. Additionally, each Tickr dual-band heart rate monitor is equipped with ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart, and compatible with virtually all devices ranging from smartphones to GPS watches.
The Tickr is the basic model, offering ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart, and the Tickr Run offers a Treadmill mode. Tickr X uses motion analytics to document a variety of motion from repetitions to swim laps. All three will be available by the second quarter of 2014, with pricing starting at $60.
