Lantronix announces Cloud Print Edition for xPrintServer, geared towards Android devices
Lantronix has announced a new edition to its xPrintServer family, the xPrintServer Cloud Print Edition. Its automatic printer discovery and configuration is aimed at businesses and individual IT professionals, and facilitates direct mobile printing. Geared toward Android OS mobile devices and devices running Chrome OS and Chrome browser, the Cloud Print Edition also accommodates OS X running Chrome and iOS devices with a Google Cloud Printing app. The company's Cloud Print Edition is a hardware solution for cloud printing that does not require additional software downloads or driver installations.
The new xPrintServer Cloud Print Edition is priced at $150 and is currently available for pre-order online from Lantronix. Shipping begins February 28.
Kwikset Kevo updated to include remote access
Kwikset unveiled has issued some updates to its Kevo smart lock this week, in response to customer requests for remote locking and unlocking. Kwikset's Kevo smart lock now allows for the user's smartphone to act as a key for locking and unlocking remotely. Users can also receive real-time notifications regarding lock access, suitable for travellers and families.
Using Kevo's mobile app, users can control eKeys, receive notifications and update lock software with their Kevo account. The web portal now offers the same features as the app. For those who do not have a smartphone, a Kevo fob can be authorized to work with up to 25 Kevo locks. The Kevo smart lock is priced at $220 and is available for purchase online.
