British mobile phone network O2 is shutting down its mobile wallet service on 31st of March. The carrier told Computerworld UK that the market has changed since it launched the service 18 months ago, deciding to close the O2 wallet "to give us time to look into new and better ways to help people manage their money on the move, both in the UK and abroad." The Subscribers of the prepaid, cross-carrier system are asked to use any remaining funds in their accounts before its closure, with any remnants being refunded via cheque or returned to registered bank accounts.
