Large battery on Huawei B199 could be used to charge other devices
Huawei has launched a successor to last year's A199 smartphone in China. The B199 sports a similar external design to the original, though the back is made of metal and the 720p display has been increased to 5.5-inches compared to the 5-inch version used in the A199, with Huawei's numerous internal improvements including an upgrade from a 2,150mAh battery to a 3,000mAh model capable of charging another device using an accompanying cable
Inside the dual-SIM smartphone is a quad-core 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, reports Engadget. On the back is a 13-megapixel camera, with a front-facing 5-megapixel counterpart, GPS, and Wi-Fi, though the CDMA and GSM cellular connection appears to support 3G and not LTE.
Huawei is shipping the B199 in China on January 20th for 1,999 yuan ($330). Considering comments made by the CEO about the US market late last year, it is unlikely to be released in North America in the future, and possibly a number of other similar markets too.
