Apple reinvents the pro desktop with the redesigned Mac Pro (Late 2013)

Last June, Apple unveiled the new Mac Pro in what turned out to be a an excruciatingly long six-month wait for the shipping product. Now that we finally have our hands on one, the high-end standard configuration with a 6-core Intel Xeon and dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs, we have been putting it through its paces. In our first look at the Mac Pro, we noted that it is clear that Apple has created something special defining what it believes is a new paradigm for the pro workstation moving forward, while our early benchmarking supports the assertion.
