New iOS app supplements photo functionality, makes other UI enhancements
A pair of updates to both Twitter.com and the Twitter iOS app have added functionality to users of the microblogging service. The website itself has been given an updated search function, allowing users to restrict parameters of a search for more relevant information. Additionally, the iOS app has new photo tools, and better login verification for users of Apple's mobile devices.
Users of Twitter.com are now able to limit searches to people followed, videos, news, photos, and proximity to the searcher. Twitter unveiled the new features with a tweet, but the process has been ongoing for some time with an earlier, quietly-revealed update giving users the ability to search for photos or people.
The new version of the iOS Twitter app allows users to click on a Tweet and reply with a photo by selecting the gallery icon, makes assorted improvements to the photoviewer, and makes many enhancements to the photo cropping and image rotation features. The additions were first added to the Android version of the app, and are implemented very similarly to the update made earlier this week.
