iOS app soon to become unavailable

Donna developer Incredible Labs has been acquired by Yahoo, according to an official announcement. Most of the company's seven workers will be taking jobs at Yahoo. The Donna iPhone app, however, will soon be pulled from the iOS App Store.

The app serves as a meeting-focused, Google Now-style assistant for the iPhone, automatically notifying people about appointment-related details such as weather and when to leave. It can also give directions, simplify dialing into conference calls, and show where other meeting attendees are and when they're expected to arrive.

What Yahoo intends to do with the Donna technology is unknown. The purchase suggests, however, that Yahoo may be working on its own equivalent of Google Now, or at least that it wants to work similar concepts into existing apps.
