New heart rate monitor water watch resistant, tracks activity
Recreational gear and audio equipment designer Pyle Audio has released its latest device, the Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor Watch (PSBTHR70). The monitor tracks and measures heart rate, average speed, distance traveled, number of steps taken, lap speeds and caloric consumption. Data can be wirelessly transmitted through its Bluetooth Smart technology, and is compatible with a variety of third-party fitness apps, such as RunKeeper, MapMyRun and WahooFitness. Its water resistance protects from rain and sweat. Available in black, green, blue or pink, Pyle's Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor Watch is priced at $70.
Wearable posture gadget Lumo Lift exceeds $1 million in pre-orders
Lumo BodyTech's second wearable technology product, the Lumo Lift, has exceeded $1 million in pre-orders as its crowd-funding campaign nears its end, which included a special pre-order special price. The Lumo Lift is a small device that tracks daily activity and helps to improve the users posture through vibration reminders to not slouch. Able to pair with an iOS or Android app, users can view their progress on calories burned, steps taken, and more. Lumo BodyTech's first product was the Lumo Back -- a monitoring belt device focused on lower back posture -- which was also successfully funded as a venture through a Kickstarter campaign. The company chose to organize the crowd-funding campaign on its own this time around, and, according to TechCrunch, has received greater support overall. Three days remain for those interested to pre-order the Lumo Lift at $70 on its website.
