Details of upcoming Sony Xperia smartphone, tablet leak
The rumored Sony Xperia D6503 "Sirius" smartphone has allegedly leaked in a new video walkthrough, showing a number of features of the device. Specifications for another Sony device has also surfaced ahead of Mobile World Congress, with the Xperia Z2 tablet, codenamed "Castor," claimed to have a 10.1-inch Triluminos display with a resolution of 1920x1200.
The "Sirius" demonstration video by YouTube user Rimas Flyil shows the device as being quite close to the styling of the Xperia Z1, though it is noted that the smartphone being displayed is a prototype and running an "unstable" version of Android 4.4.2, and could still change before its eventual release. Current rumors for the device suggest it to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch Full HD display, and a rear-mounted 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS camera.
The @evleaks Twitter account is reporting that the Xperia Z2 tablet will have a quad-core Snapdragon 800 System-on-Chip clocked at 2.3GHz, with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage behind the 10.1-inch display. Mounted on the back will be an 8-megapixel camera with a 2-megapixel front-facing counterpart, with a 6,000mAh battery providing power. It will also run on Android KitKat, and in a similar manner to the Xperia Tablet Z, will be resistant to water.
More details about both devices could come out at Mobile World Congress, with Sony holding an early-morning press event on the first day.
