Next Samsung smart watch said to use Tizen instead of Android
Samsung could launch multiple new models of the Galaxy Gear smart watch at Mobile World Congress next week, according to a report. A separate report also claims the electronics giant will also change the software running on the device, away from the version of Android used in the current version and onto the lesser-used Tizen mobile operating system.
Sources of The Verge make the claim of multiple versions, though what could be launched is not offered in the report. Earlier rumors suggest a curved or flexible OLED screen will appear in the new device along with an updated design, while another suggested a fitness-oriented Galaxy Band with a low-power motion sensor among others.

The Tizen claim by USA Today would see Samsung using the fledgling operating system in another device, after using it in a camera, a smart refrigerator, and smart televisions. Sources state the smart watch will use an "HTML5 version of Tizen," which is being suggested as a play towards app makers and web developers, in order to foster more apps for the device.
