LTE-enabled 8-inch tablet, octa-core smartphone in Archos additions

Archos has listed devices it will be showing at Mobile World Congress next week, with one tablet and three smartphones making the trip to Barcelona. The list is headed up by the 80 Helium 4G, a tablet with an 8-inch 1024x768 IPS display and LTE connectivity, and the 50c Oxygen, a smartphone with a 5-inch 1280x720-resolution display backed by an octa-core Mediatek Cortex A7-based 1.7GHz processor.

The 80 Helium 4G is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor with an Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. On the back is a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash, with a front 2-megapixel counterpart. Connectivity over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, a 3,500mAh battery, and Android 4.3 all make an appearance in the device, which is set to cost $249.

The octa-core 50c Oxygen opts for an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and the same 2-megapixel camera on the front, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage. Powered by a 2,000mAh battery, it offers 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 connections, and GPS inside its 6.7mm-thick () frame, with the dual-SIM device also set to run on Android 4.3. Archos plans to sell the 50c Oxygen for $199.

The 64 Xenon is the largest smartphone of the group, with a 6.4-inch 1280x720-resolution IPS display. Using a quad-core 1.3GHz Mediatek processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage, the 64 Xenon has the same camera set-up as the 50c Oxygen, and though Bluetooth 3.0 is offered instead of Bluetooth 4.0, it still has Wi-Fi, GPS, a microSD card slot, and a 2,800mAh battery. The 64 Xenon is priced at $199.

The rear camera is a lower-resolution 5-megapixel version, still with autofocus and LED flash, while the front camera is a VGA-resolution model. Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, and 3G connectivity is also included, along with a 1,400mAh battery. The 40b Titanium will cost $119 at release.
