Samsung's Galaxy Gear Fit watch focuses on fitness features

Interface presented on curved AMOLED display

Samsung has continued its Galaxy introductions with another watch, the Gear Fit, which will be sold alongside the Gear 2 and Neo. As its name suggests, the Fit focuses on fitness features and brings a more compact build than its larger cousins. Central to the new design is a 1.84-inch curved AMOLED display with 432x128 resolution.

Despite the thinner display, the Fit still offers the same apps that are found in the Gear 2 and Neo. Users can view notifications, access contacts and dial numbers, though Samsung's marketing focuses on the pedometer, hart-rate monitor and exercise apps.

Like the Galaxy S5 and other Gear watches, the Fit features an IP67-rated case that promises to protect against water immersion at depths up to a meter. Users can also swap the strap for different colors, while the integrated battery is claimed to last for up to four days before requiring a recharge.

The Gear Fit is expected to arrive sometime in April, though the price remains unannounced.
