RealPlayer Cloud now available for international users
RealNetworks has announced today that RealPlayer Cloud is now available for international users. RealPlayer Cloud provides users with 2GB of free cloud storage space, with additional storage available through subscription plans starting at $5 per month for 25GB of data. The app offers users moving, watching and sharing of videos with any user on any device, across platforms, supporting a wide variety of video formats.
RealPlayer Cloud has been available for five months, and has over 500,000 active users in the US and Canada. Today's update includes the addition of new features, such as reward-driven friend referrals, where sign-ups by referral provide the user with an extra 1GB of storage space. Users who run iOS can share links via SMS messaging and iMessage. RealPlayer Cloud is available as a free app from the App Store, Google Play, and the service is accessible through RealPlayer's site.
Aereo announces launch date for Greater Austin region, to be March 3 2014
Remote antenna and DVR television technology provider Aereo has announced its expansion launch date for the Greater Austin Area. Beginning March 3, the Greater Austin area (which includes 12 will have access to recording and watching live television online. Membership begins at $8 per month, and includes access to Aereo's cloud-based antenna and DVR technology and 20 hours of DVR storage. Upgrading to 60 hours of storage is possible for an additional $4 per month. Aereo works with tablets, smartphones, and computers, though is primarily supported on iOS devices at present, with an Android beta now available for download for devices running Android 4.1 or higher. Residents interested in pre-registering at Aereo.com will receive priority access to sign up.
