Front cover of next HTC One could show time, weather

More details about HTC's flagship smartphone update have surfaced over the course of the weekend, according to a number of leaks. The next HTC One will come with a unique dot matrix-style cover in one rumor, while newly-surfaced images appear to give a complete, overall view of the smartphone itself, rather than marketing renders.

The images from TD Beta show both the front and back of the Al New HTC One, with the display also turned on. While it offers little new information about the device, considering the recent leaks, the device being shown does have a branding for China Mobile on the back cover, revealing at least one carrier it will be heading to.

Another leak from the @evleaks Twitter account combines two pieces of information in one post. Apparently the new HTC One will be available to buy as a Google Play Edition device running stock Android instead of a HTC Sense-enabled version. Accompanying images show the smartphone protected by a cover which appears to be littered with holes. It is unclear if the lit pattern on the front, showing the time and weather, is illuminated by portions of the main display or if the case has LEDs mounted inside.
