Facebook Messenger for iOS and Android adds free calling

Facebook has updated its Messenger app again, adding a free calling feature. Users can now call their Facebook friends over a WiFi connection for free, meaning that those who need to make international calls can do so easily. Available in both the iOS and Android versions of Facebook Messenger, the app is free to download on iTunes and Google Play.

Microsoft adds new Active Directory assistance for iOS and Android platforms

Microsoft announced during the Build developer conference its plans for mobile application development in relation to Active Directory and Office 365, using the Azure cloud for iOS and Android devices. The Azure cloud, according to Mircosoft Cloud and Enterprise Corporate VP Scott Guthrie, will now provide authentication service for applications based on Active Directory using the exchange of OAuth tokens. This will allow Web applications in the cloud to authenticate users by utilizing enterprise or Office 365 credentials -- and these features work with Active Directory Free. Microsoft is providing an Active Directory software developer kit and Office 365 software programming interfaces for iOS and Android as well.
