Smart watch from LG will keep display turned on at all times
LG's G Watch will be water and dust-resistant, and could be used outdoors, according to new details on the official website. The Android-based smart watch will also ship in a choice of two color options, with the plain black face surrounded by either a "Stealth Black" casing and band, or a "Champagne Gold" version with a white wrist strap and a golden body.
The smart watch was first unveiled last month, at the same time as Google's Android Wear software platform. The site, spotted by Engadget, reiterates that the watch will show notifications for the wearer when it is most likely needed, and will have voice search functionality with the "OK Google" voice prompt. It is claimed the G Watch will have an always-on display, rather than one that needs to be woken up, though it is unknown how much this will affect the device's battery life.
Current rumors suggest LG is planning a release of the G Watch sometime in July, with a launch price somewhere in the region of £180 ($300).
