Samsung Galaxy K shown at full zoom in leaked photographs

Galaxy K 10x optical zoom more than doubles phone thickness

Two more photographs of Samsung's alleged Galaxy K smartphone have surfaced, showing how far its zoom lens protrudes out of the back. The pair of images found on Baidu has the phone held inside a clear polycarbonate casing, with the lens extending outwards in three segments, spanning a larger distance on its own than the smartphone body's thickness.

The images spotted by Phone Arena come after an initial leak without the clear protective case, showing the lens fully enclosed within the phone's body, as well as a fake-leather texture to the back cover. The new photos also show the phone as having a curved back, and may have a dedicated shutter button on the same side as the usual power and volume controls.

The successor to last year's Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Galaxy K is thought to borrow aspects of the Galaxy S5 in its design and specification. It is said to have an Exynos 5 Hexa processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, and LTE connectivity, with the camera itself set to have a 20.2-megapixel sensor with 10x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, and a Xenon flash.

Samsung is holding a "Kapture the Moment" event on April 29th in Singapore, which could be the official unveiling of the Galaxy K.
