Atlantic, Grande, RCN customers gaining Netflix on TiVo cable boxes
Customers of Atlantic Broadband, Grande Communications, and RCN will be seeing the Netflix app on their cable set-top boxes in the near future. The Washington Post reports the three cable companies will add the Netflix app to TiVo boxes they have supplied to approximately 500,000 customers from April 28th, and will allow them to watch the streaming video service without switching away from the cable box to another device.
Report finds voicemail for Three, EE susceptible to number cloning
The voicemail accounts of EE and Three customers in the United Kingdom are at risk of being hacked, according to an investigation. The Register used a VoIP system that cloned the target's phone number, and found it was able to get into the mailbox without being asked for a PIN, something that would usually be asked when calling from another number. When asked for comment, Three pointed to advice it provides to customers to mandate the PIN in the voicemail, while EE claimed it is investigating the issue and trying to block the security hole. Other carriers tested by the report were found to be more secure.
