iCloud sees outage in Australia, New Zealand

updated 11:11 am EDT, Fri May 2, 2014

Trouble may also be affecting iMessage

iCloud users in Australia and New Zealand have been experiencing outages for about half a day, according to complaints. Most affected people say they can't reach any iCloud functions, and some people complain that iMessage is failing as well. Apple's System Status page has made no mention of the downtime.

The company also hasn't responded to the situation, so it's unclear what the cause of the problem is or when it might be resolved. iCloud is still suffering periodic outages years after launch. Most of them haven't been regional, though, and have simply hampered a percentage of the iCloud userbase.
