Kun-hee listed in stable condition after undergoing procedure for myocardial infraction

Chairman Lee Kun-hee of Samsung was admitted to a hospital Saturday night, suffering from breathing difficulties which required resuscitation at Soonchunhyang University Hospital. Lee was transferred to Samsung Medical Center for a cardiac procedure related to acute myocardial infraction.

Bloomberg reports that Lee, 72, is listed in stable condition and recovering from the surgery, according to statements issued from a spokesperson at the Samsung Group. It marks the second time Lee has been hospitalized in the last year. Last August, Lee was admitted to the hospital for treatment of pneumonia. He was treated for another series health concern, lung cancer, in 2000.

The chairman's health issues have caused speculation in the company about its successor. Lee's son Jay Y. Lee served as the chief operating officer of Samsung until 2012. He now a vice-chairman of the company.
