Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 has Haswell Intel Core i5 processor

Ruggedized Toughpad tablet is water, dust resistant, downgradable to Windows 7

Panasonic has launched another model for its Toughpad ruggedized Windows tablet range. The Toughpad FZ-G1 has a 10.1-inch 1920x1080-resolution glove-compatible multi-touch display with digitizer and stylus with the entire unit protected against water and dust to IP65 certification level, and shock resistant against drops from a height of up to 180cm (5 feet 9 inches).

Inside the FZ-G1 is a fourth-generation Intel Core i5-4310U vPro processor with Intel HD 4400 graphics, 4GB of RAM upgradable to 8GB, and 128GB of SSD storage. Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, HDMI-out, and a memory card reader are also included, along with an optional 5-megapixel rear camera and front-facing 1.3-megapixel version, with the tablet's 4400mAh battery said to last for up to 10 hours at a time. While it ships with Windows 8.1 Pro installed, there is also the option to downgrade it to Windows 7 Professional.

Panasonic will be putting the Toughpad FZ-G1 on sale from June in Europe, starting from £1,604 + VAT ($2,700).
