Galaxy S5 Active shown with similar specifications to normal Galaxy S5
Samsung could be close to launching a ruggedized version of the Galaxy S5, based on two video leaks. The Galaxy S5 Active appears to mimic the design of the Galaxy S4 Active and uses a trio of physical navigation buttons below the screen instead of using software versions, though it will apparently have similar specifications to its non-rugged counterpart.
YouTube channel TK Tech News recorded both videos, with the benchmark video showing the smartphone to use a Snapdragon 801 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, a 1920x1080-resolution Super AMOLED display, 16GB of storage, and a 15.9-megapixel rear camera. While it does have physical buttons on the front, the device appears to have lost the fingerprint reader, but it still retains the heart rate sensor on the rear.
It is unknown when Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S5 Active, but according to the leak, it will at least be making an appearance on AT&T in the United States.
