All metal body touted in upcoming Lenovo flagship smartphone
The latest iteration in the Lenovo Vibe smartphone range could include a Quad HD display, similar to the rumored higher-resolution flagship variants from Samsung, HTC, and LG. The Vibe Z2 Pro has been leaked in a number of photographs, with an accompanying specification sheet not only confirming the 2,560x1,440 resolution, but also the 6-inch screen size and device thickness of 7.7mm (0.3 inches).
The photographs picked up by MyDrivers show the device will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, and optical image stabilization for the 16-megapixel 16:9 camera. The report also claims it will have an all-metal case, a 4,000mAh battery, and NFC support, with one shot showing it to have a dual-SIM capability.
While there is no mention of a launch for the Vibe Z2 Pro, it is likely to see a release in China in the near future. While it is unlikely to be sold in the United States or Europe, Lenovo's acquisition of Motorola Mobility can potentially help it distribute its device range to new markets quickly, and could warrant a later expansion of availability for the device.
