D-Link and Facebook collaborate to offer 11AC Router with integrated Facebook Wi-Fi
Networking and connectivity company D-Link has announced its collaboration with Facebook to deliver D-Link's first wireless router with Facebook Wi-Fi. The D-Link 802.11ac router with integrated Facebook Wi-Fi is aimed at small businesses who wish to provide customers with a Wi-Fi hot spot, accessible by checking in via the business' Facebook Page.
The service is designed to foster brand loyalty as well as offer a simplified setup for a public network. The router's Wi-Fi performance measures at up to 1750Mbps, and includes a SPI firewall and WPA2 password access to protect business networks. Priced at $150, the D-Link 11AC Router with Facebook Wi-Fi can be purchased online through D-Link.
BBC introduces new iPlayer app for iOS and Android users
Initially released for Windows 8 users, BBC has announced the introduction of its refreshed iPlayer app for iOS and Android devices. The video content streaming app offers a new home screen that focuses on simplified navigation, including the addition of the Collections feature, which allows users to group shows together of the same series or theme. Subtitles for all downloaded programs are also featured, and improved switching between landscape and portrait orientations. The BBC iPlayer is free to download through iTunes and Google Play.
