Pair of new headphones feature larger dynamic range than predecessors
Recent Apple acquisition Beats has announced a pair of new headphones, both with a more dynamic, wider range of sound than previous releases. Unveiled today is a refresh of the Solo headphone -- the Solo2, and a collaboration with design firm Snarkitecture, the Snarkitecture X Beats.
The Solo2 headphone maintains the same aesthetic as the iconic Beats Studio, but with improved acoustics, according to the company. The Solo2 headphone will be available in black, white, blue, gray, and pink, with a red version being an official project(RED) product. The new Solo2 headphone retails for $200 and is available globally for pre-order starting May 29, with retail availability on June 1.
Beats also announced a partnership with Snarkitecture. The completely matte white headphone set strips away the familiar colors and logos, which the company claims hasbeen done "so the headphone can be experienced in its purest form." The white Snarkitecture X Beats comes with the company's signature cement pillow for the headphones. The Snarkitecture X Beats retails for $600 and will be available on June 9.
