Sony launches Xperia T3 mid-ranged stainless steel smartphone

Xperia T3 measures 7mm thick, uses 5.3-inch 720p Triluminos display

Sony has unveiled another Xperia smartphone, this time a mid-ranged offering in a stainless steel frame measuring just 7mm (0.27 inches) thick and weighing 148g (5.2 ounces). Following a similar construction to earlier Xperia models, the slender Xperia T3 boasts a 5.3-inch 1280x720 Triluminos IPS display using Bravia Engine 2, giving the smartphone a pixel density of 277ppi.

Inside is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, expandable by up to 32GB via microSD. On the back is an 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera with LED flash that can record 1080p video in a HDR mode and uses SteadyShot image stabilization, with a front-facing 1.1MP counterpart. Wi-Fi, Miracast, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and LTE connectivity are also included, while its built-in Stamina mode can extend the life of the built-in 2,500mAh battery.

Sony is launching the Xperia T3 globally from the end of July, in a choice of black, white, and violet colors. Pricing for the Xperia T3 remains unknown.
