Apple iWatch component production said to be starting later in June

'Sharp acceleration' happening towards fall

Production of some iWatch components will start later this month, says Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White. The claim originates from a meeting with a technology supply chain firm. White adds that there are "plans for a sharp acceleration" of manufacturing going into the fall.

"Given the trajectory of this ramp and our experience analyzing other product ramps at Apple, we expect the 'iWatch' to be unveiled with the iPhone 6 in September," he continues. He points out that since the iWatch is predicted to be dependent on a connection to an iPhone, it may make sense for the iWatch to be announced alongside an iPhone update.

It's speculated that the iWatch will be available in several price tiers, with costs starting around $199 to $229 if Apple intends to compete with other smartwatches like the Pebble, Galaxy Gear, or Moto 360. The device's exact features have remained nebulous, but most sources agree that it will feature a variety of fitness sensors and integrate with iOS 8's HealthKit platform.

The problem with these articles is they keep showing a picture of the Motorola watch, which I really like the looks of. Stop it, it makes it hard to wait for the unannounced iWatch.
