Playstation 4 tester streams game on Ustream, Activision scrambles to remove videos

New gameplay footage of Bungie's Destiny has showed up online, though this time it isn't from the company itself. The game had footage leaked last week when one of the game's alpha testers decided to stream during a play round on the Playstation 4. Activision has been quick to pull videos down on YouTube, but other sources are still available.

Legit Reviews found the footage of a tester, under the account name of "kgro82," who took to Ustream while playing the in-development game. During the video, some of the elements that draw Destiny away from Bungie's previous franchise Halo are seen in how the character acts and the world, including joining in on area events.

Special powers by the Guardian pull the camera out to third person view, shooting off some beam powers to take down enemies. Other elements, such as character dance moves and gear customization, were shown in some of the videos that have since been taken down.

Much of the footage has been removed, as Activision has put in request to pull the footage from YouTube and Vimeo. Since the game still appears to be in a semi-rough state, it isn't surprising that the company is trying to take down the leaked session. However, the video posting has the potential to be a larger bit of trouble for the company and the streamer; the footage was taken during a closed alpha test, most likely under NDA.

Information on Destiny thus far has been guarded by Bungie, with the exception of some initial information on the game leaked back in 2012. Released footage on the game has been curated by the company, leaving many of the open-world aspects of the game left to the imagination.

Activision is taking a $500 million gamble on Destiny, which the company is anticipating will pay off when the game comes out later this year. New information on the title is expected to be released during E3 later this week. Bungie has talked about plans for the show, and the title has also been confirmed to be featured during Sony's press conference.
