Web gets in-timeline translations

Twitter has expanded its use of Bing translations, reports note. For the first time, the function has been made available in the official Twitter iOS app, where it will display translated text underneath the original. To get the option to appear, though, a person has to select an individual tweet.

The same isn't true on the web, where translations are now appearing within timeline views. The option becomes available when a mouse cursor hovers over a tweet.

The rollout may be timed to coincide with the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Twitter has been focusing on international expansion in general however during recent times.
