Nexus tablet from HTC claimed to have 8.9-inch display, Tegra K1 processor
The rumored next Google Nexus tablet from HTC has allegedly surfaced, under the guise of the HTC Volantis. Believed to be called the Nexus 9, the Volantis is said to have an 8.9-inch 2048x1440-resolution display, giving it a pixel density of 281ppi, with the body also claimed to use a zero-gap aluminum construction, a departure from the earlier Nexus tablet designs.
Details from Android Police place it as having an Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 2GB of RAM and a choice of 16GB and 32GB of storage. On the back is an 8-megapixel OIS camera with a 3-megapixel front version, stereo speakers adorn the front, and it will also apparently ship with an LTE option Details released suggest it will weigh 14.74 ounces for the standard version, or 15.1 ounces with LTE, and will have a 0.31-inch thickness, slimmer than last year's 0.34-inch Nexus 7.
Despite the details, it is believed that Volantis will not be making an appearance at Google I/O this week, with the tablet instead expected to launch sometime towards the end of this year.
