Nvidia Shield Tablet appears in media render with Tegra Note styling

Rumored Shield Tablet has similar appearance to predecessor, metallic speaker grilles

An image of what is believed to be Nvidia's next attempt at a gaming tablet has leaked. Thought to be called the Shield Tablet, tying into an earlier certification leak, the device appears to have a similar appearance to the company's previous Tegra Note 7 tablet, though apparently it will have a slightly different placement of front-facing camera and metallic sections covering the speaker grilles.

The media render and name from Evleaks certainly suggests Nvidia is continuing along the tablet path forged by the Tegra Note, with the company likely expanding the recognizable Shield brand to other similar devices. Just as with the handheld Shield, it is likely that the tablet will use the same GameStream technology to display games being played on a host PC, as well as being able to play Android games as a standalone device.

The earlier Tegra Note 7 has a 7-inch 1280x800 IPS display, 16GB of storage, microSD expansion, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front-facing version, Wi-Fi, and stylus support, all backed by Nvidia's Tegra 4 processor. A later upgrade added LTE connectivity.
