Sony's PlayStation announces upcoming 3D Blu-ray support for PS4

Sony's PlayStation has announced that its next system update for PS4 will include support for 3D Blu-ray releases. The firmware update, v1.75, is anticipated to arrive next week, according to PlayStation Europe's tweet from earlier today. This information was released in light of Microsoft's announcement of Xbox One's upcoming 3D Blu-ray support.

Amazon card reader documentation leaked

It is speculated that Amazon will soon release its own card reader device, according to documentation provided to 9to5 Mac. Part of its own point-of-sale system, akin to Square and PayPal Here, the documents from Staples suggest that the "Amazon Card Reader" is to be priced at $10, and that signage related to the reader should be held until August 12. According to a rumor from the Wall Street Journal, the reader would pair with Kindle Fire tablets, as opposed to an iOS or regular Android device.
