Bokeh control, gyro sensor used in retro-styled Pentax Q-S1

Ricoh has launched another camera in its Q-range of Pentax compact snappers, which it claims is one of the world's smallest and lightest with interchangeable lenses. The Q-S1 has a 12.4-megapixel BSI CMOS image sensor, housed inside a retro-styled body which customers are able to heavily personalize, thanks to its wide selection of color combinations.

Offering an ISO range of up to 12,800 and a shutter speed of up to 1/2000 of a second, Ubergizmo reports the Q-S1 includes a gyro sensor for shake reduction, and can be used with Pentax's existing collection of eight compatible Q-mount lenses. While it is capable of recording 1080p at 30fps, it also includes 11 custom image modes, 17 digital filter effects a "bokeh control" function, and 21 scene modes.

On the back is a 3-inch 460k-dot LCD screen with an anti-reflection coating and 170-degree viewing angles, and though it does not include Wi-Fi, it does include support for the Eye-Fi memory card system. While the body can be decorated using four standard color combinations and an additional 36 body and grip colors, the Pentax-01 Standard Prime lens is also available in a choice of five different color options.

Ricoh is shipping the Q-S1 this month, priced at $500.
