High-resolution Acer Ultra HD display available in United States

Acer has put a Ultra HD monitor on sale in the United States, aimed at the professional market. Measuring 28 inches, the B286HK has a native 3,840x2,160 resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio, is said to offer sharp pictures and high color accuracy courtesy of its included six-axis color adjustment system, and has a maximum contrast ratio of 100 million to one, with a response time of 2ms.

Capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors with a 72-percent NTSC color saturation, the display's backlight can push out 300cd/m of brightness, while connectivity options include HDMI, MHL, DVI, DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, and a USB 3.0 hub. The accompanying ergonomic stand can tilt the display 25 degrees up or 5 degrees down, swivel 60 degrees left and right, and adjust the height by 5.9 inches vertically. The VESA compliant stand can also be mounted onto a wall to free up desk space.

The Acer B286HK display is shipping now in the United States for $600, while a Canadian launch won't take place until later this month for $650.

All this spec vomit is useless, without knowing if this monitor is capable of better than 30khz when attached to a Mac Pro. Otherwise it's just brochure regurgitations.

If we can get a hold of the monitor, we'll check it for you.
