Newest Assassin's Creed game coming only to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Game maker Ubisoft has decided that it is going to add some life to the consoles of the last generation while giving fans of Assassin's Creed a little more story. Coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is the new Assassin's Creed Rogue, a game that takes place between Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag in the series timeline. The game features an improved version of the naval combat system seen in Black Flag, but takes place in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean.
Players will be cast into the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, a former member of the Assassin Brotherhood that swapped sides to the Templars. Shay will hunt down his former comrades from New York to the Arctic Circle. It's the first time in the series that gamers will be able to play from the perspective of a Templar. Shay still retains many of the perks of an assassin, like eagle vision, but also gains specialized weapons, like an air rifle and grenades.
The story is said to place during the Seven Years War, according to GameInformer. While the publication didn't want to give away too many details, it did let slip that Rogue will be an important link between the main storylines of Assassin's Creed III and Black Flag. Since the Seven Years War had a part in France's troubles leading up to the French Revolution, Shay is said to have a connection to the events of Assassin's Creed Unity as well.
Ubisoft says Assassin's Creed Rogue will be released on November 11, less than a month after Unity is released.
