Twin leaks point to two HTC smartphone launches in coming months
A pair of leaks for HTC smartphones have surfaced, for Android and Windows Phone devices. One leak includes photographs of the A11, a variant in the Desire range said to use a 64-bit system-on-chip, while another appears to reiterate earlier rumored specifications for a version of the HTC One M8 running on Windows Phone instead of Android.
The HTC A11, leaked by @upleaks on Twitter alongside images, is said to be heading to Sprint, though it is unclear if it will be an exclusive device to the carrier. It is said to have a 4.7-inch 480x854 display, a rear 5-megapixel camera, and a front-facing VGA version. Using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, a quad-core 1.4GHz processor matched with an Adreno 306 GPU, it will apparently run on Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0 for Desire as an overlay. A launch date is unknown.
According to WPCentral, the HTC One W8 may be called One M8 for Windows, using Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. Other than the operating system, the specifications of this version will be the same as the Android original, starting with the 5-inch 1080p display and the UltraPixel camera on the back. A front 5-megapixel camera, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz processor, 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, and a 2,600mAh battery will all make an appearance, along with the Dot View case. Believed to be heading to Verizon, the smartphone could make its official unveiling at a joint HTC-Microsoft event being held in New York on August 19th.
